where it began
A band of brothers literally and figuratively speaking, Danny and Matty Jackman, Scott Baxter and newest arrival Regan Grimson make up Bridlington's indie 4-piece Capital Eye. Starting as a covers band locally the band created a scene locally with a loyal following being booked regularly in their native pubs and venues. As a band they had all been writing their own music much earlier on in their lives but finally made the leap to release it to world in 2017 with their first ever originals show. Risky move but it paid off for the lads. They were an overnight sensation and started playing original gigs all over Bridlington. They recorded some tracks back in 2016 at Fairview Studios in Willerby with the renowned producer/engineer John Spence, consisting of 4 original songs; Cocaine After Midnight, Mind Control, What Does It Mean? and Ultimatum. The EP was well received and the band have had tracks played on many different Radio Stations, this opened up a much larger following than just their East Yorkshire home.
They grabbed the attentions of more when they released Lipstick Kiss in 2018. With hundreds of downloads and streams the ears of New Legends in London were pricked and a gig offer at London's Famous Fiddlers Elbow was booked where they took to the stage and blew the venue and the promoters socks off, leading to further London gigs being offered to the band from various promoters. In Dec 2018 New Legends signed Capital Eye for a management deal and 2019 is looking to be a huge year for the band. With a rebrand and refresh of the bands current social media and website, plus getting back into the studio to revamp old songs and record brand new material, this year is going to be huge and will set the boys up for the new future that awaits them.
